Spring break is a popular time for teens and young adults to hit the road, but it can also be dangerous. Whether it’s a cross-country road trip or just a trip across town, here are a few things to keep in mind before you head out:

Watch out for work zones:

Road crews are starting to become a common sight on roads in the spring. Be sure to slow down and take extra care around construction crews.

Share the road:

Warmer weather also means more motorcyclists, bikers and pedestrians tend to be out. Remember that all road users – whether on foot, bike, motorcycle or passenger vehicle – are all just trying to get to their destination safely.

Limit passengers:

For teens and young adults, passengers can be just as dangerous and distracting as mobile phones. Because of this, many states limit the number of passengers who can ride with novice drivers. Parents can always implement their own restrictions as well.

Buckle up, day and night, front and back:
