1 million trained by Ford DSFL

In 2003, the Ford Philanthropy, Governors Highways Safety Association (GHSA) along with a group of safety organizations, established Ford Driving Skills for Life (DSFL). Today, Ford DSFL continues to focus on the critical factors influencing teen crashes – vehicle handling, hazard recognition, speed management and space management, distraction and impairment.

The premise for the program remains the same as when the program was first launched, to be a step in the learning process. Ford DSFL has provided training at no cost to more than 1 million newly licensed drivers in 35 countries and has completed hands-on training in all 50 states. The work is not done and the program continues to look for innovative ideas to reach new drivers through hands-on training and online resources.
